Lincoln City title winner Adam Jackson has joined Bromley on a free transfer. The defender left the Imps by mutual agreement, concluding a six-year period that was the lengthiest of his professional career.

Jackson played many games for Lincoln, scoring several goals, and was a member of the group that secured the League One championship last season. An injury restricted his league participation during that successful season, but he played again in the Carabao Cup this summer prior to his exit. A club source stated, "He leaves with a League One title on his record and plenty of football behind him in a City shirt." The terms of his agreement with Bromley have not been revealed, and he will have the number 45 jersey at his new club.

Jackson started his career in Middlesbrough’s youth system, spending time on loan at Halifax Town, Coventry City and Hartlepool United. He transferred to Barnsley permanently in 2016, went to Hibernian in 2019, and then moved to Sincil Bank in August 2020. He played for England at several youth age groups and also featured in the Scottish Premiership.

At Bromley, he will reunite with ex-Lincoln player JJ McKiernan and known teammates Kamil Conteh and Mickel Miller, having played alongside them previously. The signing gives Bromley a defender who has played in all three EFL tiers.

Lincoln City are now competing in the Championship. Their position and points total from a number of games, with a record of wins, draws, and losses, places them in the middle of the table. Their latest results show a mixed run from their most recent matches. The team's next fixture is away against Sheffield United in October. The club's defensive choices are being considered as they continue their season in the second division. The team's performance data shows how they are managing the increased competition level.
