Lincoln City travel to face Preston North End this Saturday aiming to recover from a heavy defeat last weekend. The Imps, currently 19th in the Championship with five points from five games, were beaten 4-0 away at Bournemouth on September 8.

Recent form and squad news

Their recent form shows two wins, two draws and that one defeat from the last five outings. Head coach Michael Skubala is expected to make changes following the Bournemouth result, where Ryan Christie scored a hat-trick for the Cherries. The last starting XI featured goalkeeper Joe Gauci, with a back four of Daniel Jefferies, Daniel Oyegoke, Rarmani Edmonds-Green and Callum Elder.

Preston sit 24th in the table and have lost four of their last five matches, including a 2-1 defeat at Watford last weekend. They will be without midfielders Ali McCann and Brad Potts, plus defender Andrew Hughes, due to muscle injuries.

Lincoln's own injury list includes defenders Tendayi Darikwa and Tom Hamer. Striker Mikkel Ladefoged, who scored the late equaliser against Southampton on September 5, will be a key figure in attack alongside Reeco Hackett-Fairchild.

The challenge at Deepdale

This fixture presents a chance for Lincoln to build on their positive away results earlier in the season, which included a 4-1 win at Blackpool and a 1-0 victory at Bolton. A win could lift them several places in a congested lower half of the standings.
